Location change for the photography workshop tonight!

We have changed the location for our photography class to the Downtown Lexington Public Library and will meet on the 4th floor in conference room B. We are looking forward to seeing everyone there! As a reminder, please bring your camera’s if you have one. We will also be renting some for use during class.

Emcee: Michael Allison will be the evenings emcee. For the past 15 years Mike has been an important part of the Lexington Legends organization. From the gift shop to the on field emcee (mykraphone mike), and now the director of group sales. He  sees value in entertainment, and enjoys following the success of rising stars on and off the field. He and his Wife Cara, have one son Miles who is destined to be star in his own right.

Keynote: Nathan Mick will deliver the keynote address. He is vice president of StateBook International. Based in New York, StateBook is the first nationwide online marketplace for economic development and corporate site selection. Nathan also serves as the economic development advisor for Carlisle and Nicholas County, Kentucky.

About our event space: Copper Roux opened by Bayou Bluegrass in 2015 features new stylish amenities and combines rustic features with contemporary elements. The space is infused with true Kentucky flair and Bourbon/Equestrian accents that make this space both warm and inviting. This comfortable venue elegantly combines style and Kentucky simplicity with a flexible design that is great for special events.

The menu for the evening includes a mixed greens salad, lemon buerre blanc chicken, marinated and grilled salmon in lemon caper sauce, steamed asparagus, au gratin potatoes, rolls, white chocolate bread pudding with raspberry rum sauce.

2015 Rising Stars Call for Nominations

The Lexington Young Professionals Association is seeking nominations for the annual Rising Stars Awards. These awards are meant to recognize young professionals in the Lexington-Fayette County area and surrounding communities who demonstrate a strong commitment to impacting the community in a positive manner through professional and non-professional service and achievement.

In addition, individuals who are currently serving on the LYPA Steering Council or previous Rising Stars recipients are not eligible.  However, past nominees who were not selected for the award are strongly encouraged to resubmit an application.

Individuals will be selected by an outside selection committee, composed of leaders in the Lexington –Fayette County community. Details on the awards banquet will be available soon.
