On Sunday, October 23rd The American Cancer Society is hosting “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer”, a 5K walk at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington.
If you are interested in joining our team and assisting in fundraising for this great cause then follow this link sign in, and select “Lexington Young Professionals Association” as the team you would like to join. Contact LYPA Vice President David Cupp if you have any questions.
Last year the American Cancer Society raised over $115,000 with 1400+ people (that was in the rain too!). This year, they are shooting for 2000+ people and hopefully $150,000 raised. The walk is truly about bringing together those who have passion for ending the pain and suffering from breast cancer, celebrating our survivors and raising money that goes back to breast cancer patient programs and research.
LexPhil welcomes two-time Grammy-winning ensemble eighth blackbird for the next in the Classics Series. eighth blackbird combines the finesse of a string quartet, the energy of a rock band and the audacity of a storefront theater company. The Chicago-based “super-musicians” (LA Times) entertain and provoke audiences across the country and around the world.
Members of eighth blackbird and Music Director and Conductor, Scott Terrell, will share a first-hand look at their inspirations during this Kicked Back Classic series.
Tickets for Kicked Back Classics are available through the Downtown Arts Center Box Office by calling (859) 225-0370. LYPA members receive 20% off ticket price.
